So here are some suggestions for your covid-friendly honeymoon:

#1. The hills are calling

Yes, a quick scroll through your Insta stories will tell you this is no novel idea, for everyone you know is already in the hills. However, if you’re planning your honeymoon, it all boils down to finding the right destination! And with travel at an all-time low, it’s highly likely you’ll get reservations easily.

If you live in the North: You are swamped with options! The hills are your playground and there is no dearth of properties to go to. However, there are also a lot of people traveling right now, making it slightly unsafe to stay at hotels. Choose a quaint B&B for limited exposure and unlimited private time.

Must-Try: The Chalet at Airbnb, Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh

If you live in the South: The south is seeing a lot less leisure travel than the north, making it much safer to opt for one of the big-ticket properties you might not get reservations at later. Also, with the weather being definitely milder than the North, it’s a great time to enjoy the secluded outdoors in style.

Must-Try: Taj Madikeri, Coorg

#2. Let’s get wild

Another great option for a quick and romantic getaway is to head to the wild. Pick a romantic wildlife sanctuary with a stunning property for acres of just you, nature, and romance. The sparsely populated landscape will ensure maximum safety and a lot of rest and relaxation.

If you live in the North: Head to Ranthambore for your getaway. It’s well connected in terms of transport, has a fleet of luxury resorts for you to enjoy, and has a scenic drive with lots of great cities to stop at en route.

Must-Try: Vivanta Sawai Madhopur Lodge

If you live in the South: The Nagarhole National Park in Kabini is a stunning choice for a short honeymoon. An easy drive from Coimbatore, this destination offers a lot of wildlife activity and a truckload of privacy at the same time.

Must-Try: The Serai, Kabini

#3. Water water everywhere

For beach bums and party enthusiasts, there is no better option than to hit the shores and enjoy the tropical weather this winter. Think sun, sand, sea and it’s easy to forget about the pandemic for just about a minute.

If you live in the North: Given the distinct lack of coastline up north, your best chance of a beach holiday is the ever-popular Goa. Given the state’s low COVID count, it’s also a favorite for travelers. However, opt for a pool villa as opposed to a hotel for a safer environment and complete luxury.

Must Try: Quinta Da Santana

If you live in the South: Then the abundant coastline ensures that you have no dearth of options to choose from. You could opt for a luxury staycation at one of the resorts in Mahabalipuram or plan a sea and scuba trip to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Must-Try: Taj Exotica, Havelock Islands
